A highly active electrical storm had been rumbling nearby since 1am, so I decided to do a little lightning chasing once it had moved to a safe distance.
I headed to Turners Camp over the Pumicestone Passage as it gave me a good view to the storm now in the north. Of course, as soon as I got set up the storm became far less active and quickly moved to the southern end of Bribie Island where it gave a single, solitary flash of lightning and then died.
Not wanting to give up on a shot I decided to stick around for sunrise, as post-storm clouds often make for decent sunrises and sunsets..... I wasn't disappointed, as just on sunrise the sky exploded into this spectacular display. - Russell
