Taken during the 2018 Christmas period.
Ahh, yes, the Christmas holiday break. In the period leading up to this peculiar time of year, one often imagines grand adventures and aspires to enjoy plentiful monkey business and shenanigans. For me - it was that of various escapes to shoot a whole heap of sunrises and sunsets throughout this little pocket of SE Qld I call home. Oh the ambitions!
But then reality kicks in. You drink too much, eat excessively and end up feeling like an over-inflated balloon moping around the house in a self-inflicted shroud of misery. You pop outside to try and get inspired and get smashed in the face with oppressive heat and humidity and quickly retreat into the air-conditioned comfort of home... only to eat and drink more :) Sound familiar? But, alas, I did miraculously manage to drag myself and my inflated butt out of bed at 2am on this particular morning and made the drive down to Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. It felt great to be out! - Bernie
