One of the first Qld storms for the 2015 storm season passes over Beaudesert.

I had thought this storm would approach my location in Beechmont, but as it neared the mountain range it tracked north and kept its distance. Probably not a bad thing, as this allowed me to photograph the lightning from a relatively safe distance. That said, I still shot from within the safety of my vehicle, as it is quite common for strikes to occur some distance from the main storm activity.

This 30-second exposure includes several visible lightning arcs, as well as multiple unseen internal strikes that have provided the golden illumination of the cloud. - Russell
