Venice is a photographer's dream with yet another new image waiting around each and every corner. Sadly though, my time in Venice was spent in the pouring rain and it made photography very, very difficult.
This image I shot well before sunrise with the clouds illuminated blue from the pre-dawn light behind. The lighting on the gondolas and buildings is a blend of that blue filtered sky light and a stark orange coming from the city lights.
This harsh combination of blue and orange I found not to my liking, so I have opted for a more "art like" tri-tone effect. I personally think that it fits the aged subject matter rather well and I hope you do too. - Russell
