This bi-colour image is of the Gold Coast Seaway's sand bypass jetty.
Positioned just to the south of the Gold Coast Seaway, this jetty pumps the naturally north migrating sand to the northern side of the seaway. This alleviates the build up of sand within the seaway entrance and maintains a clear passage for vessels.
