First Light, Craig's Hut

Alpine National Park, VIC

Craig's Hut is well known for its starring role in the iconic Australian film 'The Man From Snowy River' and could possibly be one of Australia's most photographed buildings, alongside the Sydney Opera House and Parliament House Canberra.

Built specifically as a movie set for the 1981 film, the hut was destroyed by wild fire in 2006. Thankfully a dedicated group of volunteers rebuilt the hut (although not exactly to original plan) and it stands today as a popular destination for bush walkers, 4x4 enthusiasts and of course photographers.

Even though this hut has been photographed many many times, our AustralianLight Gallery would quite simply be incomplete without a few images from this fabulous location. - Russell
