When one doesn't know what to shoot in and around Brisbane, Shorncliffe is usually the answer, the fallback location that usually doesn't disappoint. Reasonably close proximity to the city means relatively short travel duration, which means getting up that little bit later (always welcome!)

I really enjoy shooting the pier just after it has rained - the wet timber decking provides a lovely sheen and glimmer and adds that something special to the shot. - Bernie
