Camping with the kids in Queensland's far south west, gave me the opportunity to capture a few sunrises while they slept.
This is at one of our camp sites about 40mins north of Eromanga. Eromanga is known for being Australia's furthest town from sea, so it was quite a surprise to see this waterhole providing a holiday home for thousands of pelicans.
The pelicans were doing regular patrols, take off and landing practice, plus I am sure a few "bombing runs" here and there, so I am quite thankful that I managed a bird free sky for the image and extremely thankful that they didn't use me for target practice. - Russell
