I believe these basalt structures of Fingal Headland in northern New South Wales, are strikingly similar to those found at "Giant's Causeway" in Fingal, Ireland. It is because of this similarity, that they (and the town) have taken the same name.
I don't know if that is true or not, but either way they make an interesting subject to photograph. - Russell
