Bernie and I travelled to Magnetic Island to meet up with a group of photographers, who were keen to spend a week slogging it out around the island with cameras in tow.
Each day we started well before dawn and shot well into the evening, with only short breaks to grab some grub now and then. I love shooting this way, as it really puts you under pressure to come up with the goods.
Sadly though, the waters around Magnetic Island were suffering from a terrible algal bloom and this meant that most locations were rather.... I don't want to use the word 'ugly' here ....so let's say 'non-picturesque'. This was one of the few bays however, where the tide and current offered protection from the bloom. - Russell
